The company’s
core activities include the operation of a central register
of dematerialized securities issued in the Czech Republic,
operation of a settlement system for the settlement of
exchange and OTC transactions involving investment
instruments, the lending of securities, administration and
management of guarantee instruments, custody and
administration of investment instruments maintained in a
separate register, assignment of investment instrument
identification numbers (ISIN), and, since 2007, the
settlement of electricity trades concluded at Power Exchange
Central Europe, a.s. (PXE).
The Central Depository operates on a participation
principle. By means of its participants the Central
Depository renders services associated with the registration
of securities and settlement of trades. The Central
Depository provides issuers services associated with the
management of securities issues.
The Central Depository is also a participant in the
Clearstream Banking Luxemburg international depository and
is a member of the European Central Securities Depositories
Association (ECSDA).

The Prague Stock Exchange (PSE) and Austrian clearing house Central Counterparty Austria (CCP.A) signed a Memorandum of Understanding. They are planning to collaborate together for the purpose of establishment of additional clearing services by CCP.A for the cash markets operated by PSE.

presenting their Fact Book for the year 2011.
